So you’re a mommy!?  But when did mommy start becoming synonymous with drab and boring?  A mother’s daily life can be jam packed with events.  We are talking play dates, grocery shopping, going to school, coming from school, soccer practice, karate classes, ballet, jazz, the list goes on and on.  I’m sure you’re thinking, “When do I have the time in my busy schedule to worry about what I wear?”  Well, that’s where I come in! I’m going to let you in on some of my little stylist secrets, BUT I have adjusted them to suit your wonderful mommy lifestyle! Listed below are small things you can do, that take very little time out of your mommy duties, but will keep you looking absolutely fabulous while doing them!

1.     Plan Ahead!  At then end of the evening, whether you’re putting the baby to sleep or tucking in the older ones, take 5 minutes to yourself to look through the closet and think about tomorrow’s day.  If you have a long day running around, you want to stick to something comfortable, easy, and movable.  Of course you already knew this!  Also, layering is super important.  Dressing like a cute mommy doesn’t have to be expensive.  If you mix and match, you can save tons of money! Use a white tank top and layer it with a button up and leave it unbuttoned for a casual look.  Next week, you could wear that same button up, with some really pretty accessories to dress it up and wear it out to dinner.  But just taking those 5 minutes to plan out what you are to wear tomorrow eliminates the stress of worrying about it in the morning when Jimmy is running around the house naked, and Isabelle wants waffles instead of pancakes.
2.     The E-Kit!  A little bag of tricks I like to call the E-Kit.  When I’m traveling, or on set, the last thing I need is a stain, ANYWHERE!  Whether it’s baby vomit, or just the fact that little Tony spilled Mac and Cheese all over his shirt that’s where the E-Kit comes in!  My E-kit is filled with Tide-To-Go, Wet Ones, Safety Pins, Double Stick Tape, Tylenol, Band-Aids, Aerosol deodorant (you just never know), and a back up cologne.  So think of some things that work for your lifestyle, maybe Band-Aids, Neosporin, Stain Removers, Tylenol, a back up Binky.  But please remember!  This bag is here to help you, so it should remain small and tiny, the last thing you want is another big bag to carry around, or maybe, if you have the space you can fit this into you’re diaper bag.
3.     The BB!  My favorite of all my little secrets, the Back-up Bag! (I know you’re thinking, what’s with all the bags!).  This little bag will make the mommy on the go, ten times easier!  I travel a lot for work, and sometimes different gigs require different attire, I could be shooting at an outdoor location in Orange County in the morning, and have to meet a client in Los Angeles for dinner early afternoon.  Sometimes I don’t have time to change.  That’s when I pull from my BB! I keep my BB in the car; it contains a pair of jeans, a casual t-shirt, a collared shirt, a belt, and a back up pair of shoes.  Now, that’s what fits MY lifestyle, so what could your BB contain.  Mommies with younger ones would probably want to keep some back up T-shirts in their BB, because baby vomit isn’t always the best accessory!  Mommies with older ones that like to go outside and play a lot can keep a pair of sneakers, and an extra T-shirt or two in case they get too sweaty!  A working mom can keep a pair of casual clothes or work clothes in there, who really likes to work an 8 hour shift and have to stay in the same outfit, when changing into a fresh button up would make them feel ten times better!

Well there you have it! There are three quick tips on making a moms life a little easier.  Hopefully this helps all of you out there, being a mom sounds tough!  But I know that the love you provide us doesn’t go unappreciated, just make sure you’re showing a little TLC to yourselves, because being an Army of Mom’s doesn’t mean you can’t look and feel great!
